Yesterday, it hailed in Boulder. It hailed hard. So hard in fact, the car I was in, and most other cars on the street, pulled over.
I’ve always heard how crazy the weather here is, but this was pretty amazing. It only lasted about 25 minutes but the aftermath was considerable; namely lots of flooding and more green leaves on the ground than I’ve ever seen before. The sun quickly came back out for an amazing sunset, which was only accentuated by the incredible smell all the fallen leaves were giving off.
It was pretty crazy experience overall, funny in the fact that we were driving back from the Westin, were as part of the iWet I was attending that weekend, we discussed how weather is an amazing example of a ’state’ experience in the world.
The rest of the evening was fabulous. The ever amazing Stuart Davis had a CD release party at Trilogy, which I helped I-I film. It was a great mix of locals, friends, and seminar participants. His new material is really incredible, and his daughter is just about the cutest person on the planet….
Sunday was a great day as well. The rest of the Wet went very well, I got to meet some of the Integral gang from London which was fun. There was a bit of a party at the brewery across the street, which was a great opportunity to blow of some steam and relax after such an intense weekend!

It’s been a busy few weeks (years for others), but we’ve finally launched some new websites. Checkout the Integral Institute, Integral Training, and Integral Spiritual Center to see what we’ve been up to at my current job. And of course Integral Naked is still chugging along.
More informally, this weekend was pretty chill and quite good overall. Tad Patterson was in town on Saturday, whom I bumped into back at Seth’s Wedding. I really don’t remember giving him my phone number, but apparently he managed to get it out of me in our drunken states. The Patterson’s are a great family whom I’m always glad to hang out with…
I met up with Tad and his cousin Jess on the roof of the Lazy Dog for a few pitchers of beer under the beautiful setting sun. We then later headed out to a party at his other cousin’s place, Abbey. Good times overall, Tad and Abbey managed to do some drunken juggling which was great. Note to self, start carrying camera around again…..
I’m slowly adding more content to this site o’ mine….photos are still up, my personal calendar is now viewable, (in case you need to schedule something important with me, HA!), and I’ll have the ticket stub collection up sometime soon. (only one missing, july pearl jam show at soldier field, i hope its in my dresser in IL!)
I can’t wait for July….2 pearl jam shows in denver with Tom Petty, 1 in SF general admission (still need someone to go with since kevin’s out of town, so meet me there!), 1 spearhead show, and a weekend of backpacking. SWEET.
Also, An Inconvenient Truth finally opened here. Way better than Nacho Libre, so go see it. I was wrong, its not just preaching to the choir, but energizing them…which is us….

So after painstakingly scanning a bajillion photos, and doing my best to organize the rest, my photo collection is finally live.
http://www.in-my-tree.net/photos/ (or click pictures in the top menu).
Still have to do the Europe trips, and a few other miscellaneous ones, but that is the great majority of all photographs I’ve taken or that have come into my possession in the last 10 years.
If you have more, let’s talk. I’ll add them to the collection. These are all 800×600, and pretty much have high res versions of most of them available on request.

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it’s sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you’re older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death
So this one’s for me. You might want to skip it. It’s a bit of time travel if you will; journaling but with a twist. I’ve always been fascinated with time, particularly writing little notes or words and stumbling across them later in life. I always find they interrupt the chaos, I center, and think back to what the context of that moment was, which always gets me thinking about what the context of this moment is. So here’s a new forum to try it with, the blog. Which allows me to access it from anywhere at anytime from this moment on.
So if you’re so inclined, feel free to do it yourself. Read this entry now. Then read it again sometime in the future. Whenever you feel like, it’ll be here.
It’s June 1st, 2006. I might read this in two months, I might read it in two years, who knows. But at some point, I’m going to sit down, and quietly read this piece to myself. By reading it I’ll remember what I was listening to at the time, what I was thinking and feeling at the time, and where I was at in my life at the time.
So you, you sure were stressed out and worrying about a whole bunch of crap at the time, can you even remember what any of that was now? If so, what did you do about it? And if not, was it really that important then?
Now ask yourself, are you happy? Did you do all the things you wanted to do? Have you reached any of your goals? Seems like it went by in such a flash doesn’t it? Was it naught but a blur, or did you manage to stay fully present and conscious through it all? Did you make the most of your time? Or are you sitting here reading this thinking, DAMN, I really wish I had done this and that.
What’s different in your life? What’s different in you?
More importantly, what’s the same? What hasn’t changed? What is exactly the same right now as it was all that time ago? (which is now right now)
And of course, how the fuck is the latest Pearl Jam album?
