Boulderrific Week

Posted in Uncategorized at 4:39 pm with tags:

Last wednesday, staff rafting trip to Cache La Poudre River. Class 3 & 4 rapids, tons of fun. Dinner at Beau Jo’s in Fort Collin’s, then camping at Estes Park.

Thursday, Alan, Eric, and Nate flew in from IL. Picked them up in the rental, shot back to Boulder and dashed off to the rooftop of the Lazy Dog for dinner. Mosied over to the Corner Bar and the Catacombs to round off some beers.

Friday consisted of chilling as it was raining, then seeing Snakes on a Plane. Excellent movie. Swang by Liquor Mart to pick up 4 Avery beers. Upon completion of drinking them we had 1 puker, and 3 drunks. Off to dinner on Pearl Street at a pizza joint. Then off on our Pub Crawl. Tons of fun, tons of drinking, lots of attractive women. Good times! Ended up at the bustop…..

Watched The Cutting Edge 2: Go for the Gold (the even stevens girl is HOT) Hiked the first Flatiron saturday, then came back to play frisbee before heading up to Red Hill House for a going away party for the coworkers. Pictures in the photo album….

The resolution is terrible…but google video is just so damned convenient. This must have been fall of 1995 or spring of 1996, I don’t honestly remember. This baby would have been done with a Q-Motion 100 PCI capture card and a MONSTROUS 4g A/V harddrive.

Sameer Bawa is your host, with appearances by Ryan Doss and myself, Joe Imhoff may have helped out too…

What Have I Been Working On?

Posted in Uncategorized at 8:49 pm with tags:

It’s been a busy few weeks (years for others), but we’ve finally launched some new websites. Checkout the Integral Institute, Integral Training, and Integral Spiritual Center to see what we’ve been up to at my current job. And of course Integral Naked is still chugging along.

More informally, this weekend was pretty chill and quite good overall. Tad Patterson was in town on Saturday, whom I bumped into back at Seth’s Wedding. I really don’t remember giving him my phone number, but apparently he managed to get it out of me in our drunken states. The Patterson’s are a great family whom I’m always glad to hang out with

I met up with Tad and his cousin Jess on the roof of the Lazy Dog for a few pitchers of beer under the beautiful setting sun. We then later headed out to a party at his other cousin’s place, Abbey. Good times overall, Tad and Abbey managed to do some drunken juggling which was great. Note to self, start carrying camera around again…..

I’m slowly adding more content to this site o’ mine….photos are still up, my personal calendar is now viewable, (in case you need to schedule something important with me, HA!), and I’ll have the ticket stub collection up sometime soon. (only one missing, july pearl jam show at soldier field, i hope its in my dresser in IL!)

I can’t wait for July….2 pearl jam shows in denver with Tom Petty, 1 in SF general admission (still need someone to go with since kevin’s out of town, so meet me there!), 1 spearhead show, and a weekend of backpacking. SWEET.

Also, An Inconvenient Truth finally opened here. Way better than Nacho Libre, so go see it. I was wrong, its not just preaching to the choir, but energizing them…which is us….

It’s that time again!

Last night ended up being pretty great in the end. Despite the super delayed flight, I arrived safely in Denver and was promptly picked up by my old bud Mike Arens, who was kind enough to have a 12 pack of heineken with him.

We got back to my house in boulder by 1 or so, and I was delighted to find that the new Pearl Jam album had arrived while I was gone. Needless to say, I went to bed a very happy man a few beers and a great album later. Less than 2 weeks to my first two pearl jam shows of the season, I can’t wait.

We got up relatively early for breakfast, and Mike’s visit was all the excuse I needed to finally check out the fabled Lucille’s for breakfast. Neither of us were able to finish our meals they were so large!

We then took a quick stroll down Pearl and then Mike was on his way! Great times.

I finally watched the Stephen Colbert White House Correspondance video today. And all I can say is he’s got balls of steel……check it out: http://thankyoustephencolbert.org/

Tennesse

Seth’s bachelor party was a complete success. Despite the rain, soggeyness, alternating cold/hotness of the trip, and realization that I’m way way out of shape, I still had a fantastic time. The smokey mountains are gorgeous and we had a fantastic group of guys. Perfect blend of old people I knew and new people I’m now glad to know.

The flood of emails in my inbox when I got back was defintely a bit of a surprise; so I went into work as soon as I took a shower and was pretty successful in getting myself caught up.

The best email I got was definitely the one from a friend who was gracious enough to buy me Pearl Jam tickets for denver when they went on sale last friday morning. They’re playing with Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers both nights, so I was a bit scared they’d sell out fast. So I was very pleased to see that it all worked out and I got tickets to both nights in July. Fantastic.

It was definitely a long weekend, the span of time between catching the shuttle at 3:30 thursday morning and getting back to my house today at noon felt like far more than 4 days. I think that’s what I like about travelling though, it totally exposes the relative nature of time. Tonight I sleep in my Boulder bed, last night I slept in my Illinois bed, and 3 nights of various Tennesse beds before that.
